The magical woodland venue is a tranquil space set in the heart of Wasing Estate. With ancient wooded lakes, undulating parkland and a leafy glade under giant pines, this unblemished woodland is very special and provides a setting of pure serenity — the perfect location for Wonderment Retreat Festival.

Getting to Wonderment

By car

From Newbury

  1. Proceed east on the A4 through Thatcham towards Reading.
  2. Turn right at the staggered crossroads by the Coach & Horses towards Brimpton.
  3. At the end of this road turn left into Brimpton. Passing through, you'll see a Post Office on your left and the Three Horseshoes pub on your right (on a sharp right-hand bend).
  4. Turn immediately left on this bend, signposted to Aldermaston.
  5. At the end of the road you'll come across a triangle in the road — turn right signposted for Aldermaston.
  6. Immediately after going over a small bridge, turn left. Then turn immediately right at the Lodge into the Wasing Estate; the white gate will open automatically.
  7. Continue up the drive, turning left at the top — the car park is on your right.

From Reading (M4)

  1. Leave the M4 at Junction 12 and proceed towards Newbury on the A4.
  2. Turn left at the 3rd roundabout (A340) towards Aldermaston.
  3. You'll go over the canal and pass the Butt Inn pub on the right. As you enter the village you'll see the Aldermaston Store on your left and the Hinds Head pub on your right.
  4. At the mini-roundabout turn right (in front of the pub) towards Brimpton.
  5. Follow this road for approximately 1.5 miles until you see a T-junction.
  6. Immediately before the T-junction, turn left at the Lodge into the Wasing Estate; the white gate will open automatically. Continue up the drive, turning left at the top — the car park is on your right.

From Basingstoke (M3)

  1. Leave the M3 at Basingstoke and proceed on the A340 towards Tadley & Reading. Continue on the A340 until you get to Aldermaston.
  2. As you enter the village, drive down the hill — you'll see the Hinds Head pub in front of you. At the mini-roundabout turn left (in front of the pub) towards Brimpton.
  3. Follow this road for approximately 1.5 miles until you see a T-junction.
  4. Immediately before the T-junction, turn left at the Lodge into the Wasing Estate; the white gate will open automatically.
  5. Continue up the drive, turning left at the top — the car park is on your right.

By rail

The nearest train stations are:

  • Midgham — 2 miles (5 minutes) — no taxi rank
  • Aldermaston — 2.5 miles (6 minutes)
  • Thatcham — 5 miles (11 minutes)
  • Theale — 7½ miles (15 minutes)
  • Newbury — 9½ miles (25 minutes)
  • Reading — 11½ miles (25 minutes)
  • Basingstoke — 11 miles (25 minutes)
Shuttle service

We're putting on shuttles between the local stations and the event. If you'd like a seat, please request it on the registration form when you book your ticket.

By taxi

Due to high demand, please book all taxi journeys in advance. Note that it's a 10–15 minute walk from the taxi drop-off point to the amphitheatre and back.
